World Changers, Risk Takers and You: Guest Post

We met at a Five Minute Friday Twitter Party between tweets about Nutella and Fuzz Ball Alpacas (don’t ask).  She has one of the most beautiful hearts, open wide and full to the brim with love and encouragement, which she pours out daily.

I have been blessed to be an open and waiting vessel for that love and encouragement and from the first tweet I knew that I had a met a stitched-together-in-Christ soul sister.  And I am honoured to have her here sharing that beautiful heart with all of you.

So grab a cuppa, find some quiet and be blessed by the hug of these words.

Crystal, welcome!

There is a dream buried down deep in your heart. The one God planted just for you, a seed gently sown in rich soil waiting for the right time to bloom. A time such as this, when the dream-seed has been nourished with the tears and joy of a lifetime of living. The waiting, the in between times, the hustle and the striving and the work? It’s all come together for this.

Brave one, chase that dream. It’s time to move it from the safety of your heart into the terrifying spaces of real life. Sure, you can leave it there. It will stay safe and you’ll be able to enjoy the thoughts of how nice it will be “one day” when you finally see your dream come true. But I say make today your “one day.” Be scared. Take that dream and replant it where the world can see, where we can cheer for you. If you aren’t scared to do it, you probably aren’t chasing a big enough dream.

Dream big.

There is a community here, online – sisters who write bravely, who live prayer-warrior lives, who walk the narrow road. A sisterhood of believers who know what it’s like to remember how to dream again. The kind of reality-defying ideas that we forgot how to pursue when we grew out of childhood. World changers. Risk takers. Dream chasers. Community builders. Women waiting for you to join in and go big. What would you do if nothing could stop you? Go after THAT.

And in the moments when it seems like this replanting of your dream has turned into a pruning of your spirit, embrace it. Watch what God can do – what God will do – when you let Him take the dead parts away and prune the best for His glory. And in the moments when it seems like all the doors are closing and your dream has stalled? Be still and rest in the knowledge that God continues to work. Always. And for your good.

So, brave one. What dream scares you? What gifts has God grown in your heart that you are passionate to pursue? We’re here to cheer for you!

  1. Beautiful words, friend. Beautiful encouragement. Blessings to you!

  2. I wish I had the words to express to both of you what an encouragement and inspiration you have been to me over the last few months. I love your sweet giving spirits.

  3. so good! #fistbump

  4. Beautiful! Don’t we just think we love our little comfort zones and dreaming of ‘one day’s? I think we only think that – until we know the difference!

    (P.S. – I clicked over from your link on Twitter… and I am leaving a comment, soooo…..?)

  5. THAT!!! I made of list of “THAT”s coming home – I’ve never really done that before. Some seem more achievable on the surface than others – but this weekend was a great springboard and connection point for a few. You were instrumental in this! You are an awesome cheerleader!

    • I saw you journaling and totally wanted to sneak a peek 🙂 Dream big, friend. You have wonderful ideas and God is going to do something awesome with your passion and energy!

  6. I love this! Cheering one another on is so important! Every time I hit publish on a post I feel nervous energy. I’m doing what I know God has called me to do, but sometimes trepidation lurks.
I’m enjoying dreaming the dreams He’s given me, and stand in awe of Him as they begin to come true.
I have an eBook coming out at the end of August and a guest post scheduled for (in)courage. God is good!
Thank you for being such a great cheerleader, Crystal. Your words speak into lives every single day and you are walking in your gifts covered with grace. God bless you!

  7. So good! Your words make me smile because in a little over 24 hours I will be chasing my dream as I make my way to Guatemala for my first mission trip. I sit here with my suit case just about ready, gifts stuffed in any corner I could find to bless the children with and a heart that is ready to be the hands of feet of Jesus. I’ve got butterflies but grateful God blessed me with ability to say yes! Much love to you both.

  8. Yes!!! Oh, Crystal!! Love these beautiful words…and your beautiful heart!!

  9. Oh, friend…you are such a blessing. I’m so thankful for this community and the way you have each loved me and encouraged me to chase dreams and love BIG! Thank you for these words…love to you! 🙂

  10. Here’s to chasing dreams~ I’m all the way in, white-knuckling it to the edge of eternity. The Spirit wind waves through my hair, and beyond the fear, on the other side of timidity and anxiety, I see glory–His. All His own.

    Beautiful encouragement, my friend.
