Five Minute Friday – View

The view from here looks a little bleak and meager.  As if we will be scraping by and picking up scraps off of the floor.  It’s crazy this idea of going back to school in my 40somethings.  We’ve lived years on two incomes.

We’ve lived years on instant gratification the “I want it now” mentality.

The view from here looks like the cons out-weigh the pros.  And when you stack the chips and place the bets the game is definitely not in our favour.   And it’s just one wild day after another of hedging our bets and going all in.

The view from here is covered in the cloudy film of desperate as we try and wrap our minds around what seems to be the impossible.  Become limited to one income and spend thousands on school.

Thank God, just thank you, Jesus that my view is the one that is impaired.  The one that is myopic, the convex curve of the lens bluring my sight.  Thank the Lord that His vision is 20/20, perfect in every way.

I have followed His voice.  I have leaned in hard, and answered His call on my life.  And so I go, blind if I have to, into the unknown.

The view from heaven is perfect.

Yep it’s that time again.  Bravery flashing across screens as hearts pour out fingers.  Come join us a Lisa-Jo Baker’s?

  1. I love everything about this one. Just everything. What a phenomenal view.

    • Thank you friend!!! And I’m learning to love the view. It sure is much better than the cloudy vision I had been experiencing.

  2. Ooh, a scary view when you are up close is often the most majestic when you aren’t right on the edge. I think you are in front of an amazing vista with this. I hope you can enjoy every breathtaking moment!

  3. Love watching you walk in faith and share your story. What a blessing it will be when you look back on these words one day & see all the ways God provided 🙂

  4. Yes yes yes…oh, you said it so well. Thank Him that we are the ones who can’t see clearly…I’m so thankful He can! Blessings to you as you take this amazing and brave leap of faith! He’s got you! Happy Friday, friend! 🙂

  5. Stepping out in faith is scary, but so worthy it! So proud of you!

  6. Tonya … I’m cheering you on! I, too, went back to school in my 40s and I never looked back. You go, girl!

  11. YES YES YES so thankful the Lord has perfect 20/20. What a view He must have. Oh and one day we’ll have a fabulous view too sitting right beside Him. Oh what a view!

  12. “The view from heaven is 20/20” Oh, I am so thankful. You write so beautifully.

  13. Oh this, “Thank God, just thank you, Jesus that my view is the one that is impaired. The one that is myopic, the convex curve of the lens bluring my sight. Thank the Lord that His vision is 20/20, perfect in every way.” So thankful that His view is perfect!

  14. there is a special blessing in that blind faith of yours..because you’ve given your vision to Him you really can’t go wrong. this will definitely be one of those “look what the Lord has done” moments. go brave woman of God! go!

    • Thank you so much friend. I have given Him my vision – and I can’t think of a better guide. I’m looking forward to those amazing moments.

  15. Wow, beyond powerful. Bless you dear.

  16. Beautiful post! You will be amazed to see the path God takes you down & all you have learned at the end of the journey! I’m a “newbie” attending Allume this year & recognized your name from the fb page. I’m so glad I stopped by. Thanks for sharing. ~ Mary

    • Mary, So glad you stopped by here. I sure hope we will be able to find each other at Allume and connect in real life. This is going to be quite the journey!

  17. Oh, yes….the heavenly view. I anticipate that.

What a journey you’ll be on…can’t wait to see what God has for you!

  18. I love that He has 20/20 vision and if I ask He will also give me that same view in situations. However, so many times I let the world fog my view. Thanks for the reminder to look at all things with His eyes.

    • Amy – we do often forget that if we ask He will grant us the eyes to see what He sees… we just have to remember to keep our eyes on Him.

  19. Yes! I’m with you in the thankfulness for MY blurred vision. If anyone must be limited and fumbling, let it be me. He shines so much stronger that way. He shows up so much bigger.
    You’ll see, friend. You’ll see.

  20. Oh yes! Thank Him that His view is so much clearer than ours. Love the way you ended this post, too, because isn’t Heaven the ultimate goal for all of us Believers? Great post!

  21. Very beautiful writing! Loved this!!

  22. So very proud of you, friend! So. Very. Proud.

    • Oh how I love you sweet friend. You’re right there standing at my back – cheering me on and lifting me up. What would I do without you?

  23. oh friend, it’s so scary this going back to school! Thank you for the reminder that HIS view is perfect and He sees the big picture

    • It is scary!!! I am terrified – but I know that he has everything I could possibly need and more! I’m resting in that!
