Dreams Do Come True (Part 2)

Several weeks ago I wrote about The Hard Work of Waiting  Tomorrow my waiting is over as I will begin my studies to obtain my Bachelor of Social Work degree.  I’m still pinching myself.  I’m still slightly gobsmacked that this is all happening.  Friend?  Sister?  Can I just whisper?  Dreams do come true.  Do not lose heart, do not give up.  They really, really do come true.

I’m living breathing proof that it happens.  I am here to tell you that those moments that you barely acknowledge for fear of having them disappear, the ones that slowly unfurl in the bottom of your heart and spread wings of hope, really do happen.

You know the ones I’m talking about.  The moments where an idea becomes your heart beat,  your dream.

I am proof that the hard work of waiting, the knee bruising, I’m-not-sure-I-can-make-it prayers can end in your dreams come true.

Dreaming is not for the faint of heart, there is no pot of gold or dandelion fluff that can bring your dreams into a clearer vision.

Dreaming is a journey, it’s taking the very pulse of your desires and laying them at your Creator’s feet and surrender all that you have to His will.

Dreaming is seeing God work in the everyday ordinary until your ordinary becomes His extra-ordinary.   Dreaming is about holding your desires loosely, palms open and being ready and willing to make your life, your dreams a sacrifice for His will.

Tomorrow I’ll walk out my front door, book bag strapped to my back and board the bus for my dream.  The one that has been 10 years in the making.  I can tell you with certainty that I am feeling all the feels.  I’m nervous and excited.  I’m terrified and yet I feel brave.  I’m anxious and giddy.   The roller coaster just doesn’t stop.

Tomorrow my dreams come true.  Tomorrow I’m embarking on a journey that’s been a life time in the making.
